Exercise Group Research Skills.

Exercise Group Presentation.

Development:

Part 1: Principle of Organization & Group

You will be assigned a Principle of Organization to research with three or four colleagues.
Please see list of Principles and Groups at the bottom of this page.

Start by connecting with the members of your group in class and together getting familiar with the assigned Principle of Organization.

As a group go through WCC Library Research Resources and define the subtopics that each member of the group will research.

Part 2: Research Principle of Organization

Start by individually researching the Principle of Organization assigned to your group.
and posting your findings to Blackboard in the corresponding thread. Make sure you share the sources and references.

Note:
If the idea of researching scares you, note that you have been developing the skills necessary for research your whole life! Just think about the "thing" you really like and how deep you search the net, books and magazines to find out more about that "thing". You should apply this same process to this project. Apply the same process!
Think of yourself as a detective finding as much information as possible about the Principle of Organization.

Part 3: Group Elaboration

Continue to use the Blackboard Forum to exchange your findings with your group.
Try to answer questions such as:

What is the goal of the principle?
Why is the principle used?
How it is used in your art field?
What kind of theoretical and applicable examples were you able to find?

The group should be developing a conversation on Blackboard about the principle so it can understood by all the members of the group.
This is not about working by yourself and then putting the results together. It is about creating content together!
In other words, you need to exchange the information you have found out with your group through Blackboard and also by meeting outside class, through email, text message, etc... so you will all have access to the same information
Everyone need to come up with his/her own research and exchange with the group!!!

Part 4: Create Original Artwork

Once you and your group have full knowledge of the Principle of Organization, individually you will create designs to exemplify your findings.
These are personal designs where the Principle of Organization and its characteristics are clearly shown.
Each participant of the group should develop his/her own examples of the visual characteristics of the Principle of Organization assigned.
The designs can be with media, have or not subject matter as long as they are original and not copies of existing artwork.

Artwork Development

Develop two final artwork in 9" x 12" on white drawing paper mounted on Bristol board.

Part 5: Group Development of Powerpoint

The final product is a PowerPoint presentation that the group will develop to present to the class.
You will assemble the content researched with the designs you created in a PowerPoint presentation using this sample template!

Part 6: E-portfolio

Upload sketches and final artworks to E-portfolio.

Part 7: Group Presentations

All the participants of the group should be prepared to present the Principle of Organization PowerPoint to the class.
Powerpoint Presentation should be uploaded to the Group's Blackboard thread.
